Had the greatest time of my life at Farfan, and the zone. Made some of the best buds of my life, and at the last reunion it just like yesterday. We had the most fun, talking and lying, maybe about old times. ya!ll need to come to the next one. You wont belive it.
I remember being at the Farfan Receiver Site. The paint was flowing like water to paint that big building. I was there 1970 for just about a year. One day I was watching the ets work on the ham ant. They were taking it down with new nylon rope. The rope gave way and down came the ant. I had allot of good times and some not so good but, over all, it was nice to be there with such a good bunch of guys.
I loved looking through your webpage. It brought back memories, I bet my parents knew some of you guys. My dad was a Marine stationed at the Marine Barracks, and we lived in farfan, right across from radio Farfan. I was 10 at the time, so I remember a bunch, but not too many names. Thank you Vic, for letting me know about your site!! I'll have to email my sister and let her come here and check it out too!! Beth Thurston
I was stationed in Farfan from 1964 to 1966. That concluded my military duty and I went into the telecommunications industry (now retired). Currently live in Colorado but will be moving to North Carolina. The 2004 reunion was the best. Great to catch up with everyone there. Missed the rest of the crew and hope to catch up with y'all in 2005.
Gary would have loved to be part of this. I remember some pictures he showed me at one time in an album, but so far I cannot find them. I am sorry Gary is missing this--it would have been very special to him. And yes, I have heard about Boo Daddy (as well as other names), but I was instructed not to use those names.
Well, it's is good to see some of my favorite people signing in here. The 2004 reunion was fantastic; 2005 should be even better! Thank you Tuck for providing this wonderful service. You are indeed a good man! Mark
Received a letter from Vic in regard to my brother, Gary Bradian. Gary would have loved to see this and hear from all his old buddies. I'm going to try to find some of his old pictures. On my brother's behalf I send regards and love to all his old friends.
was in Farfan from approx Aug 1975 thru Jan 1967, when Odonnell and I were sent to Transit Barracks in Charleston, or was that Norfolk ? heh Sure do miss that place, yep; and the times. Wonder what ever happened to Rosie ?
Was stationed in Farfan from 1964-66 after completing A school in Norfolk. Did a little over a year on USS Stickell, homeported in Newport. RI. Attended the Atlanta NBA reunion and it was great fun! Currently residing in Central Florida and enjoying life. Looking forward to retirement from the US Postal Service in a couple of years. I've found working really gets in the way of attending to my numerous hobbies. See about them on my webpage, if you have some time to waste. Thanks, Jim, for your efforts on this website. Vic
Hi FarFaners'Jim Tucker, here, known usually as Tuck, ... well ... maybe a few other nicks', too
I arrived Farfan in September of 1963 and was there until 1965 when I was transferred to the USS Coral Sea (CVA 43).
Now all y'all MUSTER IN. By leaving Your mark here for your NBA buddies and ALL FarFaners to see.
